We have provided a basic lesson outline here that can be planned at an appropriate level for children across Key stages 1, 2 and 3. It can be used as an activity prior to the pupils' visit from History in Brass and will help the children to focus their attention on what they would like to learn from the History in Brass team.

Inspired by history
History in Brass visited The Greville School in Ashtead. Following the visit, Year 5 children produced some beautifully original poems. According to their teacher, Mrs Ludeman, "the children were not only inspired by the activity but, as you can read, by the history behind it." Below is just a small sample of their work.
