Dear Elizabeth

Thanks again to you and Penny for such an interesting and fun workshop on our Tudor Day last Wednesday. All the children were enthralled and inspired. They are very proud of their pictures.

We have set the children the task of designing their own coat-of-arms for their homework and are looking forward to seeing what they can come up with.

We would not hesitate to recommend you to other year groups and other schools.

I can thoroughly recommend the experience of 'History in Brass' visiting your school. Mrs. Linn has been visiting our school to work with children in Year Two for a great many years. We always arrange our next booking before she leaves! If you want an informative, exciting 'hands on' morning for your children then book now. The whole experience is extremely well organised and superbly presented by Mrs. Linn. It is perfectly matched to the age of the children. Mrs. Linn and her colleagues are friendly, knowledgeable and very approachable.

We turn our brass rubbings into calendars which the children take home as their Christmas gift to their parents. Parents tell us they still have the calendars as they cannot bear to throw away the beautiful rubbings.

Do think seriously about booking 'History in Brass'

Dear Liz

I am writing to thank you and your colleague for visiting us last Friday. You provided the children with a wonderful experience and we have received very enthusiastic remarks from parents. I think the sale of picture frames has rocketed over the week-end!

Your introductory talk enhanced our work on Medieval Realms (particularly as we are about to embark on a session on knights with Year 5) and the Tudors, but all the children learnt a great deal about using brasses as an historical source.

You both worked extremely hard during the day and coped with the inconvenience of a shared hall/dining room with good humour.

Thank you again for your efforts and we look forward to welcoming you again in the future.

I would like to thank 'History in Brass' for a totally enjoyable session. The enjoyment for me came from watching the involvement of the children in the activities. So often these days children's attention needs to be purchased with a visit to a theme park, with the latest video or with a new computer game. With all these type of activities children are passive. This morning there was no doubt of the children's active involvement in the class and nor was there any doubt about the degree of satisfaction that they were experiencing both during the creation of their brass rubbing and with the finished result. They also learnt a great deal of history. I would recommend this activity wholeheartedly to schools.
