About History in Brass

Founded by Elizabeth Linn some twenty years ago, History In Brass was conceived as a teaching resource for schools. Today there are two mobile brass rubbing centres based in Hurstpierpoint and Sevenoaks. Both are staffed by fully qualified teachers and during term time they visit schools throughout the south of England. The large and valuable collection of original brass rubbings, as well as the faithfully created replica brasses, make a memorable and creative introduction to the history period under study.

Out of school, History In Brass forms a unique attraction at some of the most well-known and popular tourist and visitor sites like Bodium Castle and the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum. Our appearance dates in 2009 at these and other venues can be found at Outdoor Events. We are always pleased to consider appearances at Shows and Fairs where children gather and where the unique attraction of this very hands-on activity would be popular.
